The scrapbook focuses on the career of Yankee shortstop, Phil Rizzuto. The scrapbook consists entirely of media clippings, primarily newspaper photographs (black and white, as well as color), tracing Rizzuto's career from 1941-1953. The scrapbook documents several New York subway series - 1947, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1953; Rizzuto with Yankee teammates - Dimaggio through Mantle; some of Rizzuto's endorsement deals; his military career; the media's coverage of Rizzuto with his wife and children; and Rizzuto in the early stages of a sports commentary career.
